Custom New Wooden Animals - Tim Racer
This is Petal, a carving designed and created by Tim Racer and painted at Hawk’s Eye Studio by Pam Hessey.
blah
The Petal carving is painted to exactly match her living sister. Gloss varnish shows off the tongue and mouth against the more matte varnish on the body.
blah
Her asymmetrical markings are faithfully reproduced here in oil paints.
blah
Here she is with her brother Josh. His blanket is decorated with gold leaf shields, hers has painted bees, and they both sport faceted glass jewels and brass studs.
blah
They were featured on the carver’s issue of the Carousel News & Trader magazine.
blah
Sataf stands boldly on her rocker, showing off her past catches: a skunk, chicken and mouse. Each element of the design has a story behind it.
blah
The chicken peers warily from under the saddle cantle, framed by a fig and leaf design.
blah
This basenji-girl just loves to run-run-run!
blah
With her sweet smile and playful feminine nature, I just had to give her a bouquet of flowers.
blah
Buster is a serious guard dog, dressed in armor leafed with yellow gold, white gold and copper leaf.
blah
Dignified stare challenges all who see him.
blah
Joyful Chloe is seldom seen without her tennis ball…
blah
Chester could barely stop wagging his tail long enough to pose; the lively lines in the trappings reflect his buoyant nature.
blah
Cali is a high-energy pup who sports the lily flowers from which her owner is named.
blah
Graham is a fun-loving golden retriever who enjoys a good wild romp; his tennis ball is… His ball. No question.
blah
The carving sports a fierce dragon figure behind the saddle.
